Clean minds are important…
Because of communism and the cults, brainwashing is thought of as bad. You think someone is brainwashed if they know what they believe, why they believe it, and if it differs from what you think. In the true sense of the word, brainwashing is good, and needs to be done. Please hear this out.
Because of social networking and internet on cell phones people can now create a private world that no one else knows about. (except the Lord). Many people’s minds are filled with dirty videos, dirty jokes, dirty pictures, dirty stories, dirty TV, dirty music, and many other things that we would call dirty and wrong. When a man’s mind is dirty, it is or will one day be manifested in evil acts. That is why every rape includes an addiction to pornography. The Bible says in Proverbs 23:7, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” If you think dirty long enough, you will do something evil.
When our feet are dirty, we wash them. When our brain is dirty, we need it washed, also. David prayed for God to create in him a clean heart. (Ps. 51:10) That didn’t mean clean arteries and no cholesterol blockage. That meant he wanted a clean mind. The word “brain” is not found in the Bible, but the word “heart” in the Bible is many times used as the deep, inner thoughts of the mind.
David had put things into his mind that were dirty, and he wanted a clean mind. He was asking God to wash his brain or to “brainwash him.” God also said in Psalms 73:1 that He was good to those that had a clean heart or a brain that was washed.
The Word of God is compared to water that washes and refreshes us,
John 15:3 “Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.”
John 17:17 “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
Ephesians 5:26 “That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,”
John 3:5 “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (the word “water” here is in reference to our physical birth or “water” birth, but when we are born again we are born of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. The word “water” here has nothing to do with water baptism.)
Titus 3:5 “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”
As a Bible believing Christian we should cleanse and wash our brains every day with the Word of God. We cleanse our minds when we read and meditate on the Word of God. Read your Bible every morning and start your day with putting God’s mind in your mind; God’s thoughts in your mind. (Isaiah 55:8-11 and Philippians 2:5) If you have the opportunity, listen to the Word of God in the background.
Wouldn’t it be good if everyone around us had a clean brain? Wouldn’t that our neighborhoods? A clean mind is only made possible by the Word of God. Psalms 119:9 says, “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.” I want to spend time with the Bible because I want a clean mind. It is sure better than most of the people I meet that have dirty ones. When I meet someone that says, “You are brainwashing people!”, I know that they must have a dirty mind and would like to keep it that way!
